Brunswick Skyrail: Meeting tonight

LEVEL CROSSING REMOVALS IN BRUNSWICK

Tonight, Thursday 2 March, Merri-bek Council is organising a Public Meeting at the Brunswick Town Hall, to discuss the proposed removal of eight level crossings across Brunswick.

This major infrastructure project, managed by the state government’s Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), will have major impacts for our neighbourhood – especially along the Upfield rail corridor and Sydney Road during construction between 2023-27.

Come along to the public meeting on Thursday from 6-8pm, where everyone can find out more about the LXRP project and come together to hear from each other. It’s a chance to put forward your issues, concerns and hopes, to inform Council’s advocacy position (Merri-bek staff are preparing an advocacy paper which will go the April council meeting).

WHAT YOU CAN DO

  1. Attend the Public Meeting tonight, Thursday 2 March (6pm – 8pm at Brunswick Town Hall, corner Sydney Road and Dawson Street): register your interest
  2. Publicise the meeting to friends and neighbours: BRN has prepared flyers you can copy and distribute
  3. Start community discussions on what sort of Brunswick should come from this massive infrastructure initiative. Merri-bek Council has issued an initial “Issues and opportunities paper” – have a look and send in your comments
  4. Lobby LXRP, your MP and local councillors. Send your questions and comments to LXRP at email: contact@levelcrossings.vic.gov.au
