Moreland Council 2020 election candidates set out strategies for making walking safer
Thanks to all the would-be councillors who responded to our survey on policies to make walking safer in our suburbs. The walking survey is a joint project of Brunswick Residents Network and Walk on Moreland.
Fourteen (all but one of) the Moreland South Ward candidates have responded.
Our ten questions included priorities to increase safety for walkers, ideas on encouraging older people to walk more, strategies to stop speeding, and their views on the future of Sydney Road, just to mention a few.
We ask you to take a good look at each of the responses before you vote, and to prioritise candidates who you believe will make walking safer if elected.

- North-East and North-West Ward candidates’ responses
(These wards include Brunswick north of Albion Street)
Safe, accessible and inclusive walking environments are important to so many of our citizens. We appreciate the thought that so many candidates put into their responses. We hope that we can continue this conversation, including in our Candidates Forum on Tuesday 6 October.
